| The Fakhri Group: |
The Fakhri Group was started by Late Hajee Mulla Abdul Karim Fakhri, a
visionary businessman having successfully done business in Calcutta,
Rangoon and Sri Lanka, before finally settling down in Chittagong
in the year 1948.
The firm FAKHRI & SONS initially dealt in rice & flourmills and hardware
items. Gradually, other businesses were developed.
Currently, the Fakhri Group is focused in three of the most prosperous
industries in Bangladesh - Construction, Textile and Information
Technology. Chittagong Bricks & Clay Works Ltd. is one of the
leading manufacturers of machine made bricks in the country. While
G.F. Textiles, situated in the Chittagong Export Export Processing Zone,
is a 100% export-oriented terry towel factory, exporting quality
towels to Europe and America. On the Information Technology front,
in2it Interactive Ltd., which is recently launched. Will be the
flagship of the Fakri Group.
